How much fabric do you need for your diy dress?

Here is a helpful chart that will help you determine how much fabric you will need for your size. Most fabrics have a width of between 140 and 150 centimeters, which is the average width. Adjust the placement of the pieces so that they fit correctly according to the available width if you will be using a different width or pattern (such as stripes, for example).

Check your contraction!

Is there anything worse than making a beautiful garment only to have it shrink during wash-time? An easy solution can prevent this disaster! It's a common problem that can make your hard work seem like a waste. Testing your fabric's contraction before cutting it will allow you to make necessary adjustments to your pattern! This can be accomplished by iron-steaming the raw material at its maximum temperature. Care labels on most fabrics specify what temperature to use
