How To Make Your Own Mullet Skirt - Sewing Instructions

1. On the front that will be on top (piece 1) mark the crease lines and fold lines on the right side of the fabric, using different colors for the different lines. The lines must be marked down the full length.

2. Fold the fabric along the fold line, creasing accurately along the trace tacks. Bring the creased line on to the placement line. Pin to secure on the waist area. Press the pleats with your hands, don't use the iron. fig 1.

Mark the waist seam placement on the second zipper side, because they should match when the zipper is closed. Pin the second seam edge to the zipper matching the waist seam with the mark. Starting at the top, stitch down the zipper tape close to the zipper teeth, stopping at the point where the lower center back seam begins. Repeat for the other side of zipper tape. Press the zipper lightly. fig 7
