The thing is… the final product can only be as good as the fabric you start with. The pattern is great, but it's really just part of your vision—the rest comes from your skill, your creativity, and your fabric choices. So we want to help with that last part. When choosing fabric for this pattern, be sure to choose a lightweight woven fabric like satin and silk.. For example, our sample was made of satin
How much fabric do you need for your diy slip dress?
The table below outlines the amount of fabric needed for each size of the dress, based on a useful fabric width between 140 - 150 cm. If you're making your garment out of a different fabric width or pattern (stripes, plaids, etc.) you may need to adjust the placement of the pieces so the garment will fit correctly.
As you're about to cut out your pattern pieces, please take a moment to check the contraction of your chosen fabric. Simply iron steam the fabric at its highest temperature recommended on its label. Doing so, your finished garment will remain true to its sewn size and won't shrink after first washing
